Fun with Daddy

Dole Plantation

A fellow blogger friend, Lori, totally reminded me that we've never taken Ashton to Dole Plantation. After a failed swim class we decided it would be something fun to do.

Ashton loved the train! We fed the fish and enjoyed Dole Whip. Yummy!

Tsunami 2011

I almost forgot to post about the Tsunami scare we had a few weeks ago which was caused by a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan. I had signed up to receive text messages for alerts such as these and around 8:00 pm on March 10, I receive the first text message with many more to follow. It was well before the sirens went off and luckly Ashton was already down for the night. I called Adam since he was working to warn him to fill the car up and get home as soon as he could.

Needless to say we were very fortunate that Hawaii did not substain much damage and we were all safe and sounds at home. We had the tubs full of water, a pot roast in the crock pot with the rice cooker on just in case:-)

Swim Class

We finally decided it was time for Ashton to take some swimming classes. We enrolled him at the YMCA. It will fun bonding time for Daddy & Ashton to enjoy on Saturdays for about 8 weeks.

Ashton had fun, but was that kid that started to cry and was over the whole idea. He loves to swim in the ocean so I was quite surprised to see that type of reaction from him. I think it was pretty chilly as it was only 9:00 am. Hopefully next week will be more fun for him.

19 months

~Ashton wights about 24 lbs and is still in a size 4 diaper, wearing 18 month clothes, and a size 7 shoe.
~Ashton still is not saying much. The Dr. said to call him back in a few months and we'll go from there. I am not concerned as he tries to say things, just only I can understand him.
~Loves to spin around in circles to make himself dizzy and then of course, he falls down. He thinks it is hilarious.
~Loves to play basketball and football. The kid will be a star one day:-)
~Makua is still his best friend.
~We still have Ashton sleeping in bed with mommy and daddy. Love those cuddles.
~We have 12 teeth with 4 popping in as we speak. Only 4 more to go!!
~Ashton still wakes really early...like 6ish and goes to bed around 8. He takes about a 2-3 hour nap during the day on a cot at day care. Such a big boy!
~Will be a big brother in about 6 months:-)

How cute is this?

Ashton, really doesn't like to sleep alone....so much so, that at day care he got off his cot so that he could sleep by Kekoa.
