What a blast. It is so fun to see all the firsts though Ashton's eyes. He gets so excited and it makes me so excited. I keep saying this, but each month is even better! Here are a few photos from our day at the fair. Ashton rode his first ride. He did great but wanted me to hold him after a few spins on the carousel.
One of the many reason we love living in Hawaii is the culture. Since we've been hermit crabs the past 9 months, we finally are trying to get out and do more as a family. So when Adam noticed that there was a Bon Festival not to far from out house, we figured we'd check it out.
It was fun. I actually ran into a co-worker who participates in the festival as a singer.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I understand the Bon Festival is a Japanese Buddhist festival full of music and dancing to honor the deceased, yummy food and crafts. Click here if you'd like to know more. (correct me if I am wrong)
Here are a few photos. Adam loved the sound of the drum and watching all that danced.
Ashton can now: Crawl!! Yes ladies and gentlemen, the boy I once thought would never crawl did 2 days before he turned 9 months old. Say "da-da" and "ba-ba" I caught him humming the other day? Can a baby really hum? He is eating all sorts of food. He's still not a big fan of much besides poi and carrots. He LOVES to play with our dog, Makua He loves swimming (pool better than the ocean) Ashton can pull himself up in a flash. Got to spend some qualify time with his mom-mom for three weeks! Lucky boy! Still only has those two bottom teeth (I saw a top tooth trying to push though) Can have a mean temper tantrum(I still really need to show you all this) Drinks from a sippy cup Ashton can drink from a straw Holds his own bottles (I think we were a little late on this development) Still has a blocked tear duct...poor thing, his eye is sealed shut in the mornings.
Ashton went to have his 9 month well baby check on his 9 month b-day: Weight - 21 lbs 6 oz (65%) He had lost a little weight since he had been sick for the past 2 weeks. Height - 30.5" (97%)-- Dr. says were pushing 6'5 now...my big ole basketball player..gonna make mama rich! just kidding HC - 18.5" (91%) He's got his daddy's head!!
Here are a few fun pictures of our photo shoot this month. Take notice that he is no longer wearing a onesie. He looks to old to wear them anymore....even though they are so much easier!!!
What a wonderful day! My first mother's day and I was able to spend it with my own mother and my wonderful baby boy! We had a great day.
We swam in the pool, went to brunch at Ihilani and my momma made us a good ole' eastern shore home cooked meal (beef and dumplings)! It was perfect!
Ashton got me Godiva chocolates and some beautiful flowers!
Here are a few photos from our day together. Adam forgot to warn us that we would be leaving the pool (reason why we have no make up on) and heading straight to brunch....
As you can see I am trying to catch up my blog. Things have been so crazy busy with me lately. The house is a mess, the vehicles need to be washed, I'm still white as a ghost, but man life is great!!!
I just needed to post how crazy the past few weeks have been. My mom is still visiting (we extended her trip for another week), Ashton is pulling up on everything and will not sit still. He crawls backwards and can scoot himself to any place he wants. I am sure he will be crawling forward any day now. He has grown so fast in the past two weeks. It is so much fun to watch him get so excited to explore new places and things.
I took a new position at work. I am still in sales, but instead of selling to current clients, I am now selling to new clients. I think I will be happier in this position..at least I hope so! I will be traveling more to the outer islands. I love meeting new people which is exactly what I'll be doing in this new position.
I am trying to plan Ashton's first birthday. I think I am letting it get the best of me. I can't decide on a theme at all! I want to do something simple but fun at the same time. My fellow blogger friend Lori did a little game with her daughter to help decide where they would go on vacation. I think I may have to copy her idea of writing down my theme ideas on a few pieces of paper and let Ashton pick.
Poor little man is sick again! He had been coughing since we left the Hilton last weekend. Ashton was pulling on his ears and not eating so it was time to take him it. His ears were all clear but poor little man had a sore throat. The Dr. let me take a peek..it was so read and swollen. The Dr. just said to give him some Motrin and he should feel better. Within the hour of giving him some he was back to his normal self...minus the terrible cough. I wanted to make sure it was okay for us to continue with our plans for the day to the Aquarium...Dr. said it was fine! So off we headed to the Waikiki Aquarium. Ashton just loves, loves to watch the fish swim around. He was squealing in delight the entire time! (I have a video on my camcorder but it takes forever to download it so I'll post the video another time)...for now here are a few photos
