Ashton is ONE MONTH!

Check out this adorable little boy!

I can't believe that Ashton is already a month old (well on Monday 9/14). He has changed so much in the past month. He is starting to look around to "see stuff" and gets frustrated if he can't see what is going on. He know his mommy (I guess cause I got the milk, huh?) and loves to cuddle.

Ashton has finally started to show a little interest in his Little Lamb Swing. He likes the mobile hanging above it. Once the mobile stops turning, he starts crying!

Ashton has done tons of shopping too. We've been to Target a few times, the mall and of course out to eat numerous times since mom-mom is in town.

We tried out our new baby carrier this week at Target. It's called a BabyHawk. This is the fourth carrier that we have tried. Ashton is a very hot natured baby and sweats all the time, so the other carriers were a little too hot for him. Next time we use the carrier, I will be sure to post a picture. Ashton was so cuddly, he was asleep the entire shopping trip.

That's all for now. I will try to update the blog as much as I can:-)

Ashton is 4 weeks already!!

I know that I have been slacking in the blogging area, Ashton keeps me busier than I ever thought he would.

On Tuesday (9/9) Ashton took his first bottle. Let me explain that this was not by choice...I did not want him to have nipple confusion, but we had no choice at the time. I have a horrible bladder infection and was put on some really strong antibiotics and the Dr. advised me not to breastfeed while taking them. This was going to be the longest 3 days!!

Fast forward to Wed (9/10), Ashton was having horrible pains in his belly. He was screaming like I had not heard before. We had tried everything so I called the Dr. to see what it could be. I gave them the info on the formula we were using ...blah, blah. ..basically he was constipated and gassy and not a happy baby at all! During the call with the Dr. I had asked when I could start to breastfeed again (i.e...when will the meds be out of my system). I was advised to call the lactation dept. Low and behold...I was allowed to breastfeed on these meds!! I put my child though 1 day of hell that I didn't need to?!?! We're back to breastfeeding and the both of us could not be happier:-) There was no nipple confusion..Ashton knew exactly what to do:-)

Let's see....on Wed. (9/10) Ashton started to actually take an interest in his swing. He was in there about 15 mins and was so interested in the mobile that was spinning around above him. It was the first time that he took notice and followed the little lambs hanging from it.

It is amazing to see how strong he becomes each day. He is so strong...he moves his arms and legs all around. He is holding is neck up more and more each day. He is starting to focus on objects and of course is smiling in his sleep. This week or the following, we should start to see some real smiles. I am sure his daddy will get one out of him before me:-)

Here is a link of some more pictures of baby Ashton. He is such a little chunker these days:-)
