Week 28

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

How far along? 28 weeks
Maternity clothes? Of course:0)
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: Sleep is a little uncomfortable and I wake up more often that I did. My back is starting to bother me on the right side so every time I turn over my back gives me an ache that wakes me.
Best moment this week: We started on the baby room and it's nice to see everything coming together.
Movement: I feel the baby all the time. I don't understand how some people say they are getting sick of feeling the baby. It's the highlight of my day and I look forward to quite time just to feel him/her.
Food cravings: ICEE!! Not the ones from 7-11, I like the ones from Target....yummy!!
Gender: Not sure.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie but it slowing getting to the flat stage.
What I miss: Nothing at all.
What I am looking forward to: Receiving our car seat in the mail....still...it should be here this Friday. Oh and we have our sonogram this Friday as well:-) I will be posting pictures soon.
Weekly Wisdom: Clean as much as you can in your 2nd trimester. I get worn out pretty easily these days.

Week 27! (3rd Trimester)

Your baby is as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.)This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

How far along? 27 weeks and 2 days
Maternity clothes? Hum..the dress in this week’s picture is not maternity.
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: sleep is good but it is starting to get a little uncomfortable and I wake up more often that I did.
Best moment this week: We finally decided on a crib and bought it! We also started childbirth classes.

Food cravings: Nothing this week.
Gender: Not sure.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie
What I miss: Nothing except the sleep thing. Just when I get comfortable I have to pee.

Weekly Wisdom: To enjoy the time with your husband before baby comes:-)

First, I can't believe that we have entered the third and last trimester! It seems like yesterday when we found out!!

We started our Childbirth classes last Wed. They will last for another four weeks. We've been getting advice from family/friends that everything you learn in childbirth class goes out the window when you're actually in labor. That may be the case, but it's nice to just go to the classes to learn and spend time with Adam. Most of the stuff in the class I have read in books, but it's nice to see Adam so interested. I love when he tells me to do my daily "kegal" exercise!! I really don't think he knows what they are:-)

Here are a few pictures of Adam putting together the crib late Sunday night:

Week 27 and 2 day picture .....i look huge today!! In person I promise my "bump" is not that big. Must be the angle since taking pictures alone is not easy...which is why my head is also cut off.

Week 26!

Your baby is as tall as an English hothouse cucumber and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. (Length: 14 inches, head to heel.) The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

How far along? 26 weeks

Week 25!

How your baby's growing:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

How far along? 25 weeks (and 2 days)
Maternity clothes? Yes..see the dress I am wearing, it makes me look ten times bigger than I really am.
Stretch marks? None and I am praying that it stays that way for a while.
Sleep: No issues.
Best moment this week: Spending time with Adam and Makua on the beach:-)
Food cravings: None really
Gender: Not sure
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? I think it will be flat in a few weeks, it looks a little different each day.
What I miss: Nothing...I love being pregnant right now!
What I am looking forward to: Cleaning out guest room..still....
Weekly Wisdom: To just enjoy pregnancy.
Milestones: Ivve had lots of people asking me when I am due and/or what I am going to have. I love to see the reactions when I tell them we are waiting....
