Christian is an amazing, happy baby! Christian loves to be cuddled, his swing, Sophie the giraffe, being carrier in his carrier, to check out the world around him, and of course, he loves his big brother!
Some fun facts about Christian:
~he can roll from back to belly like a pro. He's so fast
~he puts any and everything in his mouth
~Christian has found his toes and loves to suck on his big toe
~he is able to grasp an object and put it in his mouth
~weights a little less than 16lbs (I can't remember the exact ounces)
~loves to fall asleep in his swing over me rocking him to sleep or even nursing to sleep
~has a great time at daycare (4 girls and 1 boy)
~had his first ear infection
~still loves to 'talk'
~has a super strong head and back
~likes to sit in his bumbo for short periods of time
~with me Christian usually naps about 4 times a day with 30 minute - 2 hour naps
~he still wakes up multiple times a night to nurse (I'd rather not count, but I am thinking about 3-4 times)
~still sleeping with me and Ashton
~wears a size 3 diaper but he is really between the 2 and 3
~wears at least 6 month old clothing but more on the 9 month side
I really and try to get Ashton in these photos so we can watch him grow with Christian. But boy is Ashton on the move...most photos of him are blurry these days!

Now Ashton is sick
...I hate when my boys are sick! Ashton has a fever and just seemed so out of it. Tutu said there is a case of Roseola at daycare. I will have to keep my eye out for any rashes. Fingers crossed he will feel better soon!

Sick baby:(
We've had an interesting past few days. On Friday, I picked Chrisitan up from daycare and he seemed a bit warm...on the back of his head. I know this sounds weird, but he wasn't warm on his forehead or his temple which is where Ashton usually is warm if he's running a fever. Since he felt warm, I decided to check is temperature. Sure enough, it was 101. I normally wouldn't be worried but since he had been coughing and had a slight running nose, I figured calling the after hours clinic wouldn't hurt. They told me to come in.
Since Adam is working nights at the Willows, I strapped both boys in their car seats and prayed for the best. We made it to the hospital and then Adam called to tell me he was getting off early. Thank goodness!! Adam came to pick up Ashton and I stayed with Christian.
The pediatrician on call was AMAZING! She ordered way too many tests (flu and RSV) along with a chest x-ray since he was making funny noises when he was sleeping in my arms. The nose swabs for the flu and RSV tests were fine. Then came the x-ray. Let's just say that I've never had this feeling before with my kids. I can handle shots and vomit and tears, but this x-ray chest immobilisation device; I could not handle. I was in tears while Christian was screaming . I know that things could have been way worse and I am thankful all he ended up having was an upper respiratory infection. But, this was the hardest experience that I've endured while being a parent. I hope we never have to do that....ever again! Here is a photo of the device if you'd like to see. I don't think it hurt him, but is was cold, he was sick, tired and of course, scared.
I am one lucky mama. This sick little guy never complains and is always smiling. Daphne, his daycare provider, did mention he had bit a tad more fussy than usual. That should have cued me on Thursday. Now I know Christian runs his fevers on the back of his head.

Chinese New Year parade
We ventured to the Chinatown parade yesterday. One of the things I love about Hawaii is the culture....it's everywhere since Hawaii is the melting pot of the world.
Ashton was so scared of the dragons at first but soon warmed up, but not enough to give a $1 for good luck. Adam and I both gave our $1 bills on behalf of the kids and us...I hope it works! We will need all the luck we can get this year.
We enjoyed lunch at Little Village Noddle House, then enjoyed some shave ice. Ashton had fun in the bouncer while Christan and I people watched.

I finally made my first spam musubi
and I think it looks rather good. Too bad Ashton wanted nothing to do with it..sigh, I made this one especially for him. I know, I know....you thinking...."she feeds her kid SPAM?!" Not really, I just have always wanted to make a musubi. I can't wait to experiement with other foods to add instead of the SPAM. Ashton now loves rice .......and I just love that he is eating!
Going on a walk to the playgound...
The title says it all. Christian rode in his big boy stroller for the first time. He is still a bit too small for it, but he loved this view as compared to his car seat view.
Ashton is growing into such a big boy. He is climbing by himself. It's so hard not to want to help him all the time. "No, I can" is his new phrase:( My baby is growing so fast!

Hello 2012
What a relaxing, quiet day we've had. Christian is sleeping in the swing, Ashton is napping in the bedroom, Adam is asleep in the recliner and I am catching up on the million things I want to do.
We've had our black eyed peas and butter mochi. I am hoping these two things will bring us some much needed good luck this year!

New Years Eve Day
We went for a drive to the windward side of Oahu today. We stopped by the Pali lookout for a photo opt. Christian slept the entire time but it was nice to snap a few photos.
Later that day, we took the boys down to Barbers Point so that we could stick Christian's toes in the sand and Pacific ocean. It was a little cold, but he was a good sport. Ashton and Makua had a great time running up and down the beach.
After the beach, we dropped Makua off at home and headed to Outback for dinner. It was getting late and I didn't feel like cooking. Ashton was such a good boy and Christian just wanted to check things out.
We didn't make it past 10:00 but were awoken to the sounds of fireworks and poppers. Christian slept though most of it and Ashton rolled over to look at me. I told him it would be okay and then he was back to sleep. Adam and I kissed the new year in and dozed back off to sleep.
2011 was an amazing year. God gave us Christian and kept our family safe and happy. Looking forward to an even better 2012! I can't wait to see what is in store for our family in 2012!

Guess who is three months
My goodness, I can't believe it's been three months since Christian was born. He is such a great baby and made being home with him a pleasure. It was so sad to drop him off at day care my first day back to work. I can say it wasn't as bad as it was with Ashton since he went to Tutu's for my first week. I guess it's knowing that he is being taken care of and loved. Next week, I'm sure, will be a different story.
Christian is such a strong little baby. He rolled over from tummy to back (at daycare of course) on the 29th (exactly 3 months old) twice that day. Tutu said that she left the room with him on his back and when she came back he was wiggling on his tummy.
Christian loves his big brother and big brother loves him. Christian just stares in awe at Ashton. Ashton holds Christians hand while we are in the car, when they are playing on the floor and is always leaning in while Christian is swinging to steal a kiss. The other day, Adam took the bike to pick up Ashton and I was coming to pick up Christian in the truck. Ashton really thought that Christian would be left alone so Ashton started to cry. He didn't want to leave his 'bubba' all alone at Tutu's house! So sweet.
Christian still loves to talk to anyone who will talk to him. He coos all day.
He is still sleeping with me and is waking a few times a night to nurse. It seems he will sleep a long stretch from about 8pm - 2am and then up a few more times from 2am - 6am. 6am is his waking time.
Christian is wearing size 2 diapers, fits in 6 month clothes and is about 25 inches in length. I would guess he weights about 15 lbs or so.
Christian is batting at his toys while he is on his back or in his bouncer seat.
Chrisitan can grasp anything you put in his hand.
Chrisitan puts everything in his mouth...I hope he's not teething already!
He still loves to nap in his swing and will take a solid 3 hour nap in there.
Christian loves to look around and check things out. He would rather be carried in your arms facing outward than in the baby carrier.
He loves his mama and gives me tons of smiles. He is such a flirt.
